Wales Cottage Holidays announces annual award winners

Wales Cottage Holidays, the self-catering holiday letting agency based in Newtown, has announced its annual award winners and recognised property owners who have been with the company for more than 30 years.

From humble beginnings on the Mid Wales borders 35 years ago, the company now has built up an extensive portfolio of holiday properties throughout Wales.

The company’s Best Holiday Cottage awards are decided on the results of the customer service questionnaires sent to customers following their holiday.

The winner was The Old Snowdon Ranger Station, Rhyd Ddu, near Caernarfon run by Dave and Kath Woods, who have been letting through Wales Cottage Holidays for many years. https://www.walescottageholidays.co.uk/snowdonia-the-lleyn-peninsula/beddgelert-cottages/wag351-old-snowdon-ranger-station

Runners up awards went to relative newcomers, Lovers’ Lodge, Llandegley, near Llandrindod Wells - https://www.walescottageholidays.co.uk/mid-wales-the-brecon-beacons/llandrindod-wells-cottages/wak290-lovers-lodge - and Glanhafren, Southerndown - https://www.walescottageholidays.co.uk/south-wales/southerndown-cottages/way216-glanhafren

he Tom family has been letting Glanhafren for a couple of years while Lovers’ Lodge was new to the holiday letting market last April, representing rapid success for owner Andrew Griffiths.

The company also recognised the amazing loyalty of three property owners who have been letting their properties through Wales Cottage Holidays for more than 30 years.

Maureen Williams has let Tan y Ffridd, at Brooks, near Newtown, for more than 33 years. Her husband, Meirion, was born at Tan y Ffridd and at one time featured on the front cover of the Wales Cottage Holidays brochure.

The other owners who have clocked up more than 30 years with the company are Mair Roberts, owner of Bronclydwr Cottage, Rhoslefain, near Tywyn and Sheila Evans, who lets Kinverley, Walton, near Presteigne.

“In 2017, Wales Cottage Holidays expects to be presenting three more long service awards to owners with 30 years’ service to the holiday letting business,” said Lesley Crowther, property portfolio manager. “We would also be delighted to hear from any property owners who would like to join our friendly, efficient and successful agency.”
